However I have recently been impressed by the LG Trumotion TV 42 inch after visiting a friend who has one. This has piqued my interest. The picture quality is the best and deep that I have seen in a long time. It has an LED picture quality and a 120Hz refresh rate. When you watch a movie – it is immersive. Football Sunday is a new experience. (The difference between this and the LG 42LD450 is that the latter has 60hz refresh rate while this one has 120Hz. This means that this TV has a faster picture refresh rate than the LG LD450.)
While Samsung and Vizio are still market leaders I predict that LG will completely take over the market soon.
After asking questions we learnt why the picture quality was way better than what we had seen. Apparently the Trumotion 120Hz technology removes blur – which means that you get to see sports and video games with no motion blur at all. For the first time, the TV is keeping up with the fast paced sports or movies or games. You select a picture mode either cinema, Game Sport etc. This will reduce the ‘sopa opera effects’ you get with other Tvs.
One of the other technologies that make this TV superior to what you may have is the Intelligent Sensor. This senses the lighting and color conditions in the room and automatically optimizes the picture!
This TV also comes with Edge Lit technology. There are two types of pixels illumination for HDTvs- the Full Array and the Edge lit. . What you need to know about Edge Lit is that it has lights around the edges of the set( and not a full panel of lights like the Full Array). This allows for deeper contrast and better quality picture- as well as a thinner profile of the TV.

The matte finish makes it difficult to see any reflections on the TV screen as is typical with other TVs.
The bazel goes from “1’ inch an top to “3″ inch ‘at the bottom. There is a high gloss black bezel with very simple contours. The edges are well rounded and sleek. This makes it a good fit for an office as well as a home.

The LV4400 model is 42 inches , has LED backlight type with local dimming ,dynamic contrast of 1 million to 1, the refresh rate is 120Hz , channels and speakrs are 1 10 Watts . It comes with 3 HDM outputs and a USB port. It weighs about 25 pounds, together with the TV stand and 22 pounds without.
The TV also has ENERGY STAR rating which means that it will not be a drain on power. It saves power when it’s on and when it’s off. This TV uses 30% less power than regular TVs.

Many customers like the fact that it has a simple controls interface. Push the home button and all the selections come up. Indeed the Sub menus are easy to navigate – unlike for other TVs- as they come with pictures and large Text.

Many customers love the picture quality and think that this is one of the best mid range TVs out there. Many customers like the fact that it is easy to set it up. The TV stand is sturdy and matches the Trumotion TV.
Negative reviews.
Our review will not be complete until we tell you about negative reviews of this TV. While not many – one customer complained that the menu options were not as many as he had expected.
However of the few negative reviews available – most were focused on the quality of the HDTV speakers.Many rated them as average to poor. And we agree. The sound is not as crisp as it could be. However if you are like us and have external speakers and or home theatre speakers systems – then this is not an issue.
One customer complained that the black colors could be much better. However we believe that with optimal menu settings the color accuracy is top notch. Others said that the TV stand should be a little sturdier.
Conclusion
If you are looking for top of the line features, bells and whistles such as internet connection (Ethernet Wifi) and BOSE sound quality then we advise you to skip this TV and go for others such as Samsungs- which will also be marked at higher prices.
However for the majority of the people who get a HDTV for the quality of the picture this TV should be on top of the list. Well in terms of picture quality – then the Trumotion is the leader of the pack. In addition the TV has double the pixel resolution, full HD 1080p and the colors have never been deeper. The details have never been so clear and vivid. You will love to see the football gliding from the quarterback all the way to the receiver hands without any choppiness. The picture quality of this TV is equal or better to any other TV – including the more expensive ones- in this mid range market.At about $550 it priced at hundred of dollars less than the competition. It is no wonder that is now one of the best selling TVs in the US.
